Authors Notes: It’s official – I am mad.  Having started the houndxmirage Three's a Charm challenge, flarn_fanfic said how she wished someone was doing something similar for redxinferno.  And I’m easily suggestible when it comes to that pairing.  So I shall be attempting a drabble (100 words) every day.  Feel free to poke me (gently) if I miss a day?

November 06 – nacreous
The day of their bonding ceremony, Inferno thought he’d died and gone to the Matrix.  When Red Alert stepped through the doors to present himself to Inferno, the firetruck had never seen anything so beautiful.
Sunstreaker had repainted and waxed and polished Red Alert’s frame to a nacreous finish and Inferno thought he’d never seen Red Alert look so good.  Well, perhaps in the throes of overload maybe, but this was something else.  For his part, he’d polished his frame, but it didn’t look anywhere near as lustrous and shiny as Red Alert’s.  Inferno felt like the luckiest mech online.

Awww, I love that Sunny helped Red out. That is not a pair of mech I think of as on good terms ... though I suspect Red likes Sunny better than Sides.

I can see Sunstreaker in a generous mood being inclined to do Red Alert up nicely for Inferno, it would definitely fit in with his artistic aesthetic. "There's no way I'm going to let you get bonded looking like *that*!"

And I bet that Inferno looks just as wonderful to Red Alert, even though he didn't get quite the same polish job. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and Red Alert would obviously be one smitten beholder. :D

Yep! I think I remember a fic that summed it up perfectly, where Sunstreaker complains that Red Alert (as a Lambo) is not going around looking as poor as he does.
