Authors Notes: I had fun doing the

prowlxjazz Anniversary Challenge, ~~if no one else enjoyed reading them~~. So when

tf_rare_pairing announced their October challenge, I thought I might try something similar. Though this is going to be different as I have to write on a daily basis again. But that was fun when I did it before (both times). So yeah… wish the ever-more-eccentric one luck?

It had been on Cybertron that they’d first met. In the Towers, to be precise. Mirage looked back on it as one of his fondest memories of his time in the Towers before they fell. He remembered meeting a dashing young enforcer there. Remembered the sweep of his doorwings, the striking crimson of his helm chevron. Remembered the way they danced, the way they moved against one another.

Years later, he would be forcibly reminded of that night as he came face to face with the Autobot’s Chief Tactician.
“Prowl.” He murmured the name in surprise, before they were even introduced.
“Mirage.” Prowl inclined his helm in greeting, doorwings flaring on his back. “It is good to see you again.”
“Likewise.” Mirage smiled, gratified when Prowl returned his smile. “Doubt there’s much time to tango nowadays though?” He shrugged.
“Perhaps we can make the time.” Prowl offered, doorwings twitching nervously.
“I’d like that.”
“Okay, so do you two mechs wanna tell me how ya know one another?” Jazz stood, hands on his hips, glancing between his subordinate and the tactician.
“No.” They answered as one.
