Summary: Life with Ravage isn’t always easy, despite what the other Decepticons may think. This is a sample of Soundwave’s struggles being owned by a cat, regardless of its robotic form.
Warnings: Cats being cats. That might be warning in itself. Disclaimer: As per usual, the good things in life are not mine to have, but belong to someone else... in this case Hasbro, Takara and IDW and anyone else I’ve forgotten…
Authors Notes: From the tf_bunny_farm here. May have some similarities to
femme4jack ’s fic, but I think this is more due to cat behavior than anything else.
Feedback makes friends. Flames dealt with by the masters of paranoia and fire, Red Alert and Inferno.
Part 2: The Things We Do For LoveCats
As soon as Soundwave sat down to write his report, Ravage was jumping on his lap and wanting to make himself comfortable. With a resigned sigh, Soundwave lifted the datapad higher so that Ravage had enough room to sit down. Never mind that it made his cables ache holding the datapad at that angle so he could write. Of course, as soon as Ravage started that contented purr, it didn’t matter that he ached. Soundwave found himself putting his datapad down and just staring at Ravage. He knew he gave his eldest cassette liberties that he perhaps shouldn’t, but he couldn’t help but indulge him. They had free reign around his quarters, only spending time in his cassette deck when they were on missions. And he was sure they benefited from it. Even though he was the only one to see their true nature. No one else cared that Ravage sometimes slept with his tongue poking out. Or that Laserbeak always slept with her right leg raised. Or that…
Shaking his head, Soundwave brought his attention back to his report, picking up the datapad and a stylus. Positioning his arms carefully to avoid disturbing Ravage, he started composing his report. He was a third of the way through when Ravage stirred. He didn’t pay too much attention to the awakened feline, which in retrospect was probably a bad idea. He certainly paid attention when Ravage batted the stylus out of his hand.
“Ravage!” Soundwave’s voice had more of an exasperated tone to it, especially as Ravage jumped off his lap to bat the stylus around the room. He made an abortive attempt to reach the stylus, only to give up when Ravage growled at him. Reaching into his desk drawer, he pulled out another stylus, just knowing the one Ravage had would end up underneath the desk with all the other styluses he’d managed to ‘capture’.

Date: 2011-07-08 12:33 pm (UTC)Years ago I had another cat and her favorite toy was the plastic ring from the top of a plastic milk carton. They all ended up under the television cabinet. One day when I cleaned them out I counted over 30 of the silly things.
Very cute. Guess it doesn't matter what kind of cat - when you are owned, you are owned.

Date: 2011-07-12 11:20 am (UTC)And I alternate sometimes... I've had Ravage as female before. I like to think they can't all be male. And as they can't 'talk', it's easy to change.
