Authors Notes: For the tf_rare_pairing  June Challenge prompt – "Death be not proud." ~ John Donne.  Same series as all my other Shockwave/Ratchet ones.  My thanks to mmouse15 for suggesting this prompt for this pairing.

Ratchet wasn’t expecting to online his optics.  The lights of Shockwave’s repair bay were harsh and he immediately offlined them again with a groan of pain.
“That was stupid.” Shockwave’s voice carried across the room.
“Frag off.” Ratchet muttered, turning over and curling up.
“I’m not sure what you thought you’d achieve by doing that.”
“Freeing myself.”
“Death is not freedom.  Death is not proud.  Nor will death deliver you from me.” Ratchet could hear Shockwave moving across the room.  Then Shockwave’s hand was on his shoulder, gently forcing him to turn over.
“I have spent four and a half million years without you.  I’m not losing you again.”
