Authors Notes: It’s official – I am mad.  Having started the houndxmirage Three's a Charm challenge, flarn_fanfic said how she wished someone was doing something similar for redxinferno.  And I’m easily suggestible when it comes to that pairing.  So I shall be attempting a drabble (100 words) every day.  Feel free to poke me (gently) if I miss a day?

November 08 – demotic
The ceremony was performed twice, once in the higher language of the nobles, and again in the more demotic language.  Red Alert shifted impatiently during the noble rendering, hating that they had to go through this because of his heritage.  A heritage he’d tried hard to forget.  He far preferred the simpler language most common mechs used.  The language Inferno used.  The language Inferno had used to court him.  None of this fancy, roundabout way of speaking that was common amongst the nobles.  Inferno had just come out and said what he wanted.  And what he wanted was Red Alert.

Aww, that's so sweet. And it makes a certain amount of sense. People interpret Red Alert's very British sounding voice as upper class, whereas people tend to view Inferno's voice patterns as more working class. But Red Alert knows first hand just how romantic plain speaking can be.
