Disclaimer: As per usual, the good things in life are not mine to have, but belong to someone else... in this case Hasbro, Takara and IDW and anyone else I’ve forgotten…
Authors Notes: I'm mad... I must be mad. This is written for the houndxmirage Three's a Charm challenge. I shall be attempting a drabble (100 words) every day. Feel free to poke me (gently) if I miss a day? And this does have mod approval :)
Feedback makes friends. Flames dealt with by the masters of paranoia and fire, Red Alert and Inferno.
December 18– cohesive
To all those who viewed their relationship as cohesive, Hound wanted to scream that it wasn’t. That the only reason they were together was because Mirage had information Hound didn’t want getting out. He knew that the Autobots wouldn’t be sympathetic to a former Decepticon. And only Mirage knew the truth. Only Mirage had the power to keep him free or to let him end up in the brig.
So Hound was forced to go through with the charade, knowing that if he didn’t, Mirage would turn him in. The noble seemed to enjoy the power he had over Hound.
December 19 – welter
As the Ark weltered through the asteroid shower, Mirage found himself torn between hanging on to the console to keep himself upright, and hanging on to Thundercracker to stop him going after Hound. Hound was across the other side of the control deck, grappling with Skywarp and looking as though he was losing.
Through space the two ships tumbled, tearing away from one another as they veered towards a planet in a distant solar system.
“I’ve lost control. We’re gonna crash!” Mirage gave up on Thundercracker and clung to the console, waiting for the impact.
The crash sent everyone offline.
December 20 – exemplary
“Mirage, your performance today was exemplary.”
“Thank you, creator.” Mirage dipped his head in acknowledgement of the compliment.
“Hound, get your master a celebratory drink.” As Hound turned to fetch the drink, Mirage’s creator continued. “The highest number of turbofoxes in one shoot, that is certainly impressive. You’ll be the talk of the Towers my mech.” Mirage’s creator smiled proudly.
“Thank you, creator.” Mirage smiled back, smile warming briefly as Hound handed him his drink. He didn’t dare say thank you to his servant, even though he desperately wanted to, still all too new to this master and servant thing.
