Pairings/Prompt: G1: Wheeljack/Jazz – trick – abandoned/ostracised
Disclaimer: As per usual, the good things in life are not mine to have, but belong to someone else... in this case Hasbro, Takara and IDW and anyone else I’ve forgotten…

In the beginning, Jazz had been reluctant to say exactly what his job was. Wheeljack was an engineer, and curious about everything. And naturally, he was curious to know what his new lover did.
Wheeljack didn’t care that he was Special Operations. Wheeljack didn’t care what he’d done in the past, and what he would do in the future. Wheeljack just cared about him, and Jazz found himself revelling in that. Before long, Wheeljack was the reason that he came back from his missions. Similarly, Wheeljack found himself inventing more weapons and devices that would help Jazz stay safe.
Of course, as soon as his colleagues found out exactly what Jazz did, Wheeljack found himself shunned. Well, technically, they were both shunned. No longer could Jazz stop by the workshops and be greeted by smiles and offers of newly concocted high-grade. He stopped coming around to see Wheeljack during the day, and met him away from the workshops.
Wheeljack was surprised that Jazz didn’t just stop seeing him. That he was worth it.
“Of course you’re worth it, ‘Jack.” Jazz protested, pressing a kiss to Wheeljack’s headfin. “I don’t care what they think about what I do. I know it needs to be done, just as you know the weapons you create need to be created.”
“But my friends…”
“Have decided they don’t want to know what I do. And have decided they don’t want me around.” Jazz shrugged. “I can deal with that, an’ I don’t want ya to lose yer friends over me.”
“They’re hardly my friends if they’re going to behave like that.” Wheeljack muttered.
“They’ve ostracised me, ‘Jack. I don’t want them to do that to you.”
“I know.” Wheeljack pulled Jazz close. “But I can’t help but wonder how much longer it’ll be before they do the same to me.”
